The oceanfront resort town of Myrtle Beach is one of the most sought after vacation destinations on the east coast of the United States.
With the mild southern climate and an average of 101 cloudless days per year, Myrtle Beach can't be beat for golf, tennis and a number of other outdoor activities.
During the cooler months, with many local companies offering reduced fees and discount golf packages, there's no better time of year to play golf in Myrtle Beach.
Golf Course Closings
Several golf courses in Myrtle Beach have given way to the real estate boom and have closed or will be closing. The courses with reportedly no golf in their future are Eastport, Bay Tree, Deer Track, and Wildwing's Hummingbird, Wood Stork, and Falcon courses.
Golf Course Changes
Several Myrtle Beach area golf courses are also undergoing major changes.
Pine Lakes Country Club was redesigned, redeveloped, and reopened by Burroughs and Chapin and Craig Schreiner.
Angels Trace became part of the Ocean Ridge Courses, changing from 36 to 18 holes, and will undergo a name change to Jaguars Lair.
Sea Golf Club is slated to be redesigned and reopened as the Founders Club.
